I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how thrilled I am to be back at your place driving horses. This morning Rowley gave me one of those super efforts that gladden the heart. After practicing our dressage I took him on a walk practicing our marathon walk and had a few minutes to reflect on how nice it is to have a quiet training session to work on improving the details of a test with no distractions and just quiet. My mind was focused and Rowley seemed really willing and relaxed. When we are in that place together the results are a joy for both of us I think. Yesterday we were able to practice cones with both Rick & Luci on the marathon vehicle. The ability to vary the practice between the dressage arena, the cross country and cones is wonderful and invaluable to our development as a team. Some days we get to practice with distractions…which we need , but to have the quiet times is priceless.

I also appreciate the environment for Joyce. Everyone has been wonderful helping her to become gradually exposed to a variety of experiences. I particularly appreciate the time you have taken with the gator to get her accustomed to having a “judge” parked at C at the end of the dressage arena. It’s above and beyond what would be expected, and is deeply appreciated. It is a safe environment for bringing her along slowly and methodically. She seems to enjoy herself more every day. The woods trail is where we go to have fun and relax. 

Many of the wonderful wins with Rowley are attributable in no small part to the time we spent together last winter at Gilcrest. We are hoping we’ll continue to be one of your success stories.
